'mainly music'

What is 'mainly music'?

'mainly music' is a fun program for parents or primary caregivers and preschoolers (ages 0-5) to enjoy music and movement together. mainly music provides an environment where preschool children, along with their parent or caregiver, participate in activities that develop skills to enhance their preschool education through music, rhythm, rhyme, and other music and movement related activities.

'mainly music' was founded in 1990 in New Zealand, spread to Australia, Europe, South Africa, America, and now has come to Mt. Airy.

About mainly music

  • Provides opportunities to nurture the relationship between parent or caregiver and child(ren)
  • Celebrates the important role of being a parent or caregiver
  • Helps parents and caregivers develop friendships with other adults in the same life stage
  • Provides opportunities to think about God's love for us

In short, 'mainly music' is an opportunity for adults and children to build memories and spend time together, sharing special time with each other

A Quick Overview

Each week, parents and caregivers participate with their children in a 30 minute session of music, rhyme, movement, listening and more...puppets, instruments, and more. After the music and movement portion of the morning, children enjoy a snack while the adults are treated to a coffee/tea break. Snack time is followed by a short toy time, where children play in the same room, allowing the adults to visit with one another. The entire mainly music session lasts approximately one hour.
